Magic the Gathering Puzzle Quest has turned into a game of trying to figure out how to download the update instead playing Magic the Gathering Puzzle Quest. Its an interesting tradeoff, but I preferred the original myself.

Good game on a twist of magic the gathering.

Id like to say that this game has come a long way, updates are poignant and cards are numerous.... just like the actual card game..... and just like the card game i find myself getting disinterested because one or two ultra rare opponents cards that are too good defeat my deck that has an 80% win clip. I am not gonna buy those cards and encounter them too often to earn them. I will end up with vulnerable, antiquated cards while the rich kids dominate, again! Woo! Middle school all over again!

Game started of fun and interesting. Expansions seemed great until it became obvious new planeswalkers are outpacing originals so you have to buy them to remain competitive. Rates of getting rares from packs, including the 14 pack option are horrible so unless you pay out the nose for packs you will never be able to make top rankings in event. Eventually feels like you are grinding to get the same stuff. No options to craft cards so in the end it just gets stale. Also tired of the computer magically getting 20+ gem breaks in back to back turns by "miraculous" gem falls. Customer support is useless in many areas. Deleting the game and not looking back

This a great MTG game! Only wish it had pvp with friends

I have fun playing this game. Its a bit of strategy and nostalgia mixed into one.

This app isnt predictable when it crashes, and every time it crashes my planeswalker loses at least 40 health and I have to restart the level. Please fix this, Im a huge magic fan but this ruins the rating. Apps are very good when they crash to the point where they are unplayable

This really is a great idea for a game with the Magic The Gathering Card game system. It utilizes all the rules of the card game automating most of them. Giving some as abilities to be unlocked by the various Plainswalkers and some that require certain gem card combinations to unlock. Pretty cool so far. You can customize your decks to your playing styles. It can get really challenging, but quite fun to play. And there are different ways to play it. You can quest ala RPG style and follow a story line. Or you can quick battle other players to fine tune your fighting skills and gain special cards. There are also events in which you put a team of Plainswalkers together and work for a goal. Terrific So, far. Problems. They either perform maintenance every week so the games down for a good two to eight hours, then follow it with an update. It up dates quite regularly. And so far, every update you lose things, cards, points, youll be advancing on a certain track and suddenly discover, youre back at the beginning. Then theres the AI. all games are against an AI that uses the decks and abilities of other players. Ill use the Quick Battle mode as an example, though it also applies to the Event mode and the Story mode to some degree. In Quick Battle, you are ranked by how many battles you win and your win loss ratio. This gains you prizes. Ranking goes from 1000 at the bottom to 1 at the top. In all the time playing this, and Ive played it since it first was offered in the App Store. Ive never reached first place, never, heres why. As your wins mount, the AI suddenly gets really "lucky" playing incredible card combinations and matching gems in huge cascades. It basically becomes unbeatable. I commented to the game developers several times about this, and they have acknowledged that it does seem to happen. Ive yet to see it fixed, completely, though these unbeatable AI moments seem to be diminishing. They still crop up. They also have fixed several cards that when played seem to wipe out the opponent. Then theres the up dates I again use Quick Battle mode as an example, though I have seen this in Story mode also. Your advancing nicely, gaining ground and moving up the standings, an upgrade comes through and youre back on the bottom. This has happened several times. Over all a fun game. If you like playing the card game youll probably like this, if you can ignore the set backs of the AI and the upgrades.

Over 10 months the game has had its ups and downs, mostly downs. Real problem now is drop rates of rare / mythic are down again. 2 "big boxes" yielded 3 rare and 0 mythical out of over 140 cards. In the past that would consistently be 14+. My point is, just dont spend money. Youll be disappointed.

I find this to be a good past time game.

New update wont download. I deleted the application and it still wont download. I have nothing else loaded. Im worried Ive lost everything. I would be devastated and you would stop playing.

Easy for a quick game or even for long periods of time.

The game is fun, but this update (and the game in general) is way too expensive. Some cool new planeswalkers were just released, but theres no way Im paying $15 EACH! So far there have been 3, and theyre not done releasing yet. On top of that, newest limited release is $30 for a single card. A single VIRTUAL card! Crazy.

I really love this game but I always crash and have lost five matches in battle with other people because of the crashing. I wish there was a way to "dumb down" the graphics so I can play this faster and more efficiently. It is so frustrating to be winning on the last round delivering the final blow and then....black, home screen. I log back in and my planeswalker is only at 14 health. I know Chandra would be having none of the sh*t. Thank god I dont know how to shoot out flames or else my ipod would be trashed.

A pretty fun distraction of you like Magic the Gathering and Puzzle Quest.

My brother introduced me to this game and it is very fun!

The game is entertaining but does not do a good job of embracing new players. The rewards do not allow you much to get you started and you are put up against players that are much further along than you. The match ups are not fair. Mediocre game at best.

Highly addictive and fun!!! Truly enjoy this game.
